Jousting

Mabon’s tournament ground is just South of the Bentbranch aetheryte, held behind the Chocobokeep npc. Challengers sign up, registering their name to do battle with Willow’s champions in a roleplay flavored dice off.The joust itself will be a mounted roleplay event with roll thresholds to beat in order to determine a victory in a clash of three rounds which may feature a bracket or some sort of tiered reward system through defeating up to three of Willow's champions.Challenger and champions will use the companion chocobo in order to do standing battle. (Think of a randomized game of chicken!)Challengers are encouraged to glamorize their battlebird to their liking, as well as their glam.

Rules

In a joust, challengers must defeat three champions through a series of dice roll (Ranged from 1-10) /random 10. Each champion is a scaled fight of increasing difficulty, incurring a slanted roll in the champion's favor against a challenging fighter where the results determine a winner of greater value. If a challenger defeats a champion, they are admitted into the next fight for the next level of champion. Each champion is fought in a best of five rounds where three added victories is a triumph against the jousters. If a challenger is defeated, the active champion is declared the winner and the next joust starts anew. Please limit yourself to one post at the standard XIV chat character limit!

Prizes

For each champion defeated, prizes on a prize track are unlocked for the winning challenger to choose from!

Champion

Champions are opponents provided by Willows for challengers to fight. Of the three champions, each are a scaling difficulty curve against a challenger where the bronze level champion is the weaker opponent and the gold level is the strongest, either incurring or boasting roll modifiers in or out of their favor.Champion roll modifiers
Bronze level Champion (-1 roll)
Silver level Champion (+1 roll)
Gold level Champion (+2 roll)
How To Play
1. Challengers are called up and announced by the host, along with the respective champion, fully disclaiming the roll modifiers before a round begins.
2. Both competitors will take opposing positions when the host announces a “Mount up!” in the jousting area to signal they're to ready for combat.3. The host will declare the start of the joust and give the OK to fight! Both competitors will write up an active ‘attempt’ RP post to land an attack following a dice /random 10 command of which the higher value will determine the outcome. "The challenger will always attack and roll on the offensive with the champion's response post and roll on the defensive!" They will continue to roll off until either the challenger or champion have accumulated three victories over their opponent.4. The host will announce the final rolls, including their modifier in a way that clearly shows their results. Eg. “The challenger Selena strikes at the Bronze Champion with a mighty blow of 5! The Bronze champion retaliates with an attack of 5(-1)! Despite the Bronze Champion’s best efforts, their inexperience sees them defeated!”5. The champion will post a concluding post once either the challenger or champion have claimed victory, the host will announce the next fight.Special Rules
Critical Hit (Rolls of 10) and Critical Miss (Rolls of 1) rolls are possible where rolls are modified for the rest of the encounter with that champion. Modifiers are returned to their initial state upon a new champion joust.
A Critical Hit is an instant victory for the round and the added effect of knocking the champion off their mount! This will defeat a champion for a single round, regardless of their modifier and incur a flat (-1) to all rolls on the champion of a lost mount until the next fight. This is represented by the champion dismounting when you roll a 10. The challenger moves onto their next /roll on a 10, making a consecutive attack."Only the challenger may inflict a Critical Hit!"A Critical Miss is an instant loss for the round and the added effect of the falling off their mount in which the same flat (-1) modifier is added to all rolls of the imprecise party till the start of a new fight. This is represented by dismounting when you roll a 1."Both the challenger and champion are susceptible to a Critical Miss!"

Archery

"Shoot arrows, win prizes"

Mabon will be hosting an archery minigame in the southern Bannock where participants may attempt to win prizes through luck and taking risks for even greater rewards. How to win

Mabon’s glamour contest will be hosted Southeast of the Bentbranch aetheryte, on the bridge nearer the jousting field. The contest will feature thematics of medieval/middle ages both accurate and fantastical elements appropriate for the setting of Mabon.Contest rules will be traditionally straightforward with three judges and a host that can direct participants as the contest flow requires where a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners have the chance to win various prizes.

Storytelling

The Mabon storytelling area is a theatre of various oral traditions, be it for practical storytelling, comedy, drama, and acts as a generalized space for open form narration. Divinations

Kae'tee Katpoh

Ul'dahn merchant by day, by night Kae'tee uses the insight she has gained from study and practice of various magickal arts to help the lost and uncertain find their way. Relying not on cards or stars, she scrys the winding currents of fate through her cauldron, guided by the petitioner's question and a sacrificed possession.

Altani Fergali'lir

"Much like the elusive winds that carry our fates, Altani's trajectory changes on a whim. A man who bears many faces, some of which so dissonant that they could not all belong to the same person; could it be that the man, rather than an individual, is but a phenomenon? A coordinated group orchestrating their deeds under a single name and, thus, creating a legend? Speculations and rumors aside, one thing is guaranteed: regardless of his face, the man named Altani carries fate on his fingertips, and a single card of his trusty deck Astrios is able to open your eyes to truths unseen...if you are lucky enough to receive one of his readings."

Artist's Corner

Safi Spharea

Space star goo that looks blue to you- After being pulled to the planet by Forces (and having been shoved by a sister star), she took the form of the first person she met and decided to experience what This Star has to offer. She burns a bit hot, being actual plasma and all, so be cautious on approach- fusion is constantly happening! Safi likes to sit on the edge of things and watch as things happen (an old habit from her "watch and warn" days in the sky), being a little too shy most of the time to participate. To show her love for others without risk, she sends out warm, gooey sparkles and sketches! Sometimes music is involved, but sketches are faster and seem more rewarding.

FlamaeCor

Flamae has been one of the longest tenured artists working with The Willow Circle providing our weekly giveaways!

Thordram

Thordram will also be doing a custom emoji giveaway! To enter for this giveaway you must enter via the discord!

Mimi

Mimi is a humble little artist who has an affinity in drawing the adorable and sultry. Also a huge pink dye/pink hues enthusiast. They're incredibly shy at first, so please approach with caution.... Until they get comfortable. Then they're a bit of a chatterbox with things one doesn't know or care about.

Bellemi/Thea

Bellemi is a gposer/photographer that will be hosting a themed photobooth during the event, you can find her in the artists corner as well!
